Effects of Crop Rotation on the Growth,Quality and Soil Environment of Euryale ferox
Objective:To investigate the effects of wheat rotation on the growth, quality and root-soil environment of Euryale ferox. Methods:Field experiment was conducted to determine the growth index, kernel yield, resistant starch content of Euryale ferox under dif-ferent crop rotation cycles. The relative contents of organic acids and flavonolds were detected by metabolomics. The changes of soil properties, enzyme activities and microbial structure in the root were studied. Results:Crop rotation significantly improved the growth in-dex,kernel yield, resistant starch and organic acids and flavonolds contents of Euryale ferox, thereby enhancing the quality of medicinal materials.Furthermore, crop rotation increased the contents of available potassium, available phosphorus, organic matter and soil enzyme activity in the root-soil.The rotation treatment also increased the relative abundance of beneficial bacteria, such as Lactobacillus, while reducing the relative abundance of harmful bacteria like Fusarium. Conclusion:Euryale ferox and wheat rotation can improve soil nutri-tion and soil microbial community structure,so as to effectively improve the yield and quality of Euryale ferox. This study initially reveals the scientific connotation of Euryale ferox and wheat rotation planting system, and provides a theoretical basis for the realization of high-quality and high-yield ecological planting model of Euryale ferox.
