Investigation and Diversity Analysis of Medicinal Plant Resources in Nandan County of Guangxi
Objective:To find out the characteristics of distribution and utilization of medicinal plants resources in Nandan county based on the fourth national survey of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)resources,so as to provide scientific basis for the protection and utilization of local medicinal plant resources.Methods:According to the requirements of the fourth national general survey of TCM resources,the medical plants resources in Nandan county were surveyed through field investigation,visiting cultivation bases and related administrative departments,and the resource composition,life form and medicinal part were analyzed.Results:The wild medicinal resources included 174 families,691 genera,1 222 species in Nandan county,the dominant families were Fabaceae,Asteraceae,Euphor-biaceae,Rosaceae,Rubiaceae and Liliaceae.Medicinal plants were mainly herbs,shrubs and dungarunga.The most widely used parts were whole plant,followed by roots and rhizomes.There were 67 species of key medicinal materials involving 63 original plants,6 spe-cies of national key protected wild plants,12 species listed in Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora(CITES),and 4 species listed on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species as endangered(EN),Threatened(NT),and vul-nerable(VU).Conclusion:The diversity of medicinal plant resources in Nandan county is obvious,but there are some problems such as over exploitation and habitat destruction,and the local Chinese medicinal materials planting lacks standardization and scale.It is suggest rationally developing and utilizing the resources of medicinal plants and formulating effective measures to promote the sustainable devel-opment of the TCM industry.
