Clinical observation on the treatment of 45 cases of children with vocal tic disorders of hyperactivity of liver and wind-driven type by press-acupuncture of the"pharyngeal four acupoints"combined with Xifeng Dingsheng granules(息风定声颗粒)
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of press-acupuncture"pharyngeal four acupoints"com-bined with Xifeng Dingsheng granules(息风定声颗粒)in the treatment of children with vocal tic disorder(TD)of hyperactivity of liver and wind-driven type. Methods Ninety children with vocal TD of hyperactivity of liver and wind-driven type admitted to the outpatient clinic of Traditional Chinese Medicine Pediatrics Department of Wenzhou Hospital of Integtated TCM and Western Medicine between March 2021 and January 2022 were selected and divided into a control group and a treatment group according to the method of random number table, each with 45 cases. In the control group, thiabendazole hydrochloride tablets were given orally, and in the treatment group,press-acupuncture"pharyngeal four acupoints"was combined with the oral administration of Xifeng Dingsheng granules.8 weeks of treatment was given to the two groups, and the clinical efficacy, improvement of the twitching symptom and the state of anxiety were counted. The total effective rate was 75.56%(34/45)in the control group and 93.33%(42/45)in the treatment group, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).The Yale Global Tic Severity Scale(YGTSS)scores of the 2 groups before treatment were compared, and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05),which was comparable;the YGTSS scores of the 2 groups after treatment were significantly decreased, and the difference was statistically significant compared with that of the same group before treatment(P<0.05),and the decrease in the treatment group was more significant(P<0.05).Comparison of Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA)assessment of the 2 groups before treatment, the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05),and it was comparable.HAMA assessment of the 2 groups after treatment were significantly improved, and the difference was statistically significant compared with that of the same group before treatment(P<0.01),and the improvement of the treatment group was more significant(P<0.05).The incidence rate of total adverse reactions was 11.11%(5/45)in the control group and 2.22%(1/45)in the treatment group, and the difference was not statistically significant when comparing the 2 groups(P>0.05).After stopping the drug, the ad verse reactions of both groups gradually disappeared on their own. Conclusion Press-acupuncture"pharyngeal four acu-points"combined with Xifeng Dingsheng granules in the treatment of children's vocal TD with hyperactive liver and wind-driven type can significantly reduce the children's tic episodes and effectively improve the children's anxiety, with remarkable efficacy and high clinical safety, which is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
