Objective To explore the application effect of Case-Based Learning(CBL)combined with flipped classroom teaching mode in the teaching of combined Chinese and Western medicine paediatrics. Methods Ninety undergraduate students of Chinese and Western medicine clinical majors of Gansu University of Chinese Medicine in the class of 2019 were selected as the study subjects, and were divided into a study group and a control group of 45 each by using the random number table method. The study group used CBL combined with flipped classroom teach-ing mode, and the control group used traditional teaching mode. After the chapter teaching, the average grades of basic theoretical knowledge, the average grades of case analysis and the student'satisfaction with the teaching method were compared between the 2 groups. Results The average grade of basic theoretical knowledge in the study group was(85.42±5.26),and that of the control group was(85.16±6.52),and the difference between the 2 groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The mean score of case analysis in the study group was(77.89± 8.35),which was significantly higher than(71.91±9.44)in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total satisfaction of the students in the study group with the teaching method was 88.89%(40/45),which was significantly higher than 68.89%(31/45)in the control group, and the difference between the 2 groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion CBL combined with the flipped classroom teaching method in the teaching of combined traditional Chinese and Western medicine paediatrics has a good effect, and it can cultivate students'clinical thinking, professionalism and lifelong learning ability, which is an effective and worthwhile teaching mode.
