The effect of Dabuyin Wan(大补阴丸)combined with growth patches on predicting adult height in 34 young girls with early puberty and short stature
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Dabuyin Wan(大补阴丸)combined with growth pat-ches on the sexual development process,bone age growth,and the impact on predicting adult height changes in short girls in early adolescence.Methods A total of 68 short stature girls aged 8-9 with normal or larger bone age and breast stage B2 were selected from the outpatient department of Jiangbei District Traditional Chinese Medicine Hos-pital in Ningbo City from November 2021 to November 2022.They were randomly divided into a control group and a treatment group using a random number table method.Due to the impact of the epidemic,4 cases each fell off due to irregular medication or patch treatment,with a total of 30 cases in each group.Both groups were given guidance on diet,exercise and sleep.The control group took traditional Chinese patent medicines and simple preparations Dabuy-in Pill.The treatment group was treated with acupoint application of Growth Patch on the basis of the treatment method of the control group.The efficacy of both groups was counted after 6 months of continuous treatment.Results After the treatment,the height,growth rate(GV),△HtSDS,and △PAH of the treatment group were significantly higher than those of the control group.The differences between the two groups were statistically significant(P＜0.05 or P＜0.01),while there was no statistically significant difference in △BA/△CA between the two groups(P＞0.05).The comparison of uterine and ovarian volumes between the two groups before treatment showed no statistical-ly significant difference(P＞0.05),indicating comparability.After intervention,the uterine and ovarian volumes of the two groups significantly decreased compared to before intervention,and the differences were statistically signifi-cant(P＜0.05).However,there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups after treatment(P＞0.05).The comparison of serum IGF-1 levels between the two groups before treatment showed no statistically signifi-cant difference(P＞0.05),indicating comparability.After treatment,there was no statistically significant difference in serum IGF-1 levels between the control group and the same group before treatment(P＞0.05),while the treat-ment group showed a significant increase in serum IGF-1 levels compared to the same group before treatment and the control group after treatment(P＜0.01).During the treatment process,there were no significant adverse reactions observed in the control group,while in the treatment group,there were 2 cases of skin redness at the application site,which did not affect the treatment.Conclusion The combination of Dabuyin Wan(大补阴 丸)and Growth Patch can intervene in short girls in early adolescence,slow down sexual development and bone age progression,ac-celerate height growth,increase serum IGF-1 levels,predict adult height increase without significant adverse reac-tions,and is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
