Clinical observation on 40 cases of idiopathic short stature with deficiency of spleen and kidney treated with spring growth-boosting patch and auricular acupoints pressure
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of spring growth-boosting patch combined with auricular acupoints pressure in the treatment of idiopathic short stature with spleen and kidney deficiency.Methods 80 cases of children with idiopathic short stature with spleen and kidney deficiency syndrome in the Department of Paediat-rics of Zhejiang Xiaoshan Hospital were selected from November 2020 to March 2022,and were divided into a treat-ment group and a control group of 40 cases each using the random number table method.The control group was trea-ted with lifestyle intervention,and the treatment group was treated with spring growth-boosting patch combined with auricular acupoints pressure therapy on the basis of the control group's intervention.After 3 months of treatment,the height,body mass,appetite,and other traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores of the two groups were com-pared before and after treatment.The standard deviation of height(Ht-SD),annual growth rate of height(GV),pre-dicted final height difference(△PAH),and changes in serum levels of insulin-like growth factor 1(IGF-1)and insulin-like growth factor binding protein 3(IGFBP-3)were also compared.Results The height growth value and body mass growth value of the treatment group were significantly higher than those of the control group,and the difference between the 2 groups was statistically significant(P＜0.05).Comparison of Ht-SD,GV,△PAH and ser-um IGF-1,IGFBP-3 levels between the 2 groups before treatment,the difference was not statistically significant(P＞0.05),and is comparable;after treatment,the values of the above indexes of the 2 groups were significantly higher than those of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant compared with that of the same group before treatment(P＜0.05),and the treatment group had a more significant increase(P＜0.05).Comparison of height,body mass and appetite points of the 2 groups before treatment,the difference was not statistically significant(P＞0.05),and was comparable;after treatment,the above points of the 2 groups decreased significantly,compared with the same group before treatment,the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05),and the decrease was more significant in the treatment group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Spring growth-boosting patch combined with auric-ular acupoints pressure for idiopathic short stature with spleen and kidney deficiency can effectively improve the children's height,body mass,appetite and Chinese medicine syndrome points,significantly increase serum IGF-1 and IGFBP-3 levels,effectively promote the growth and development of the children,which is worthy of clinical pro-motion and application.
