The application of TCM external treatment in premature infants in the past 10 years was searched,and relevant literature of randomized and controlled clinical trials were used to summarize clinical reports of differ-ent treatment methods.It is pointed out that traditional Chinese tuina,rehabilitation massage,traditional Chinese medicine bath,TCM paste,music and other methods have significant effects on the treatment of neonatal jaundice,neonatal sachoma,brain injury,feeding intolerance,mecogalactic constipation and growth promotion.In the later stage,external treatment of Chinese medicine should be combined with nutrition management of premature infants,which is more helpful to promote the growth and development of premature infants.At present,the design of existing studies still has problems such as small sample size,inconsistent treatment course and efficacy endpoint,and the overall evidence-based level is not high.In order to further promote the application of TCM external treatments in premature infants,it is suggested that a systematic and standardized TCM health care management program for pre-mature infants should be developed in the future,so as to improve the short-term growth and development level of premature infants and long-term quality of life.
