Professor ZHANG Shiqing's experience in treating exogenous fever in children
Professor ZHANG Shiqing believes that the causes of exogenous fever in children are often due to the sensation of wind,cold,and heat,which can cause stagnation and heat.In the process of syndrome differentia-tion,it is important to pay attention to observation,especially to the tongue and throat.He used different prescriptions and medicines according to the different locations of the disease,and preferred to use Yinqiao San(银翘散),Xi-aochaihu Tang(小柴胡汤),Haoqin Qingdan Tang(蒿芩清胆汤),and Dayuan Yin(达原饮)as the main prescrip-tions,with flexible modification,which could always achieve remarkable therapeutic effects.The emphasis on care and prevention of disease recurrence in the later stage reflects the traditional Chinese medicine's concept of preven-ting diseases before they occur and preventing them from changing.One case is presented for verification.
