Clinical observation on Sangye Gouteng Tang(桑叶钩藤汤)as an adjuvant treatment for 43 cases of tic disorder in children with syndrome of liver hyperactivity and stirring wind
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Sangye Gouteng Tang as an adjunctive therapy for children with Tic disorder(TD)with liver hyperactivity and stirring wind syndrome. Methods 86 children of TD with liver hyperactivity and stirring wind syndrome who visited the Department of Pediatrics at the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University from July 2021 to October 2022 were randomly divided into a control group and a treatment group, with 43 cases in each group, using a random number table method. The control group received oral administration of haloperidol tablets combined with ear acupoint pressure, while the treatment group received treat-ment with Sangye Gouteng Tang on the basis of the control group's treatment method. Both groups were treated for one month as a course of treatment, and the clinical efficacy was calculated after three consecutive courses of treat-ment.Before treatment, there was no statistically significant difference in the main symptom score, secondary symp-tom score, and total score between the two groups(P>0.05),indicating comparability. After treatment, the main symptom score, secondary symptom score, and total score of both groups significantly decreased.Compared with the same group before treatment, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),and the treatment group showed a more significant decrease(P<0.05).Before treatment, there was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05)in the levels of serum folate and retinol binding protein(RBP)between the two groups, indicating comparability.Af-ter treatment, the serum RBP levels in both groups significantly decreased and folate levels significantly increased.Compared with the same group before treatment, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.01),and the treatment group showed a more significant decrease or increase(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05)in the scores of the Yale Tourette Syndrome Severity Scale(YGTSS)between the two groups before treatment, indicating comparability. After treatment, the YGTSS scores of both groups significantly decreased, and compared with the same group before treatment, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.01),and the treatment group showed a more significant decrease(P<0.05).Conclusion Sangye Gouteng Tang as an adjuvant treatment can effectively improve clinical symptoms, reduce serum RBP levels, and increase folate levels in children with TD liver hyperactivity and stirring wind syndrome, with significant therapeutic effects. It is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
