Childhood tic disorder arises from the dysfunction of the five internal organs, with the primary focus on the liver and its relationship with the heart, spleen, lungs, and kidneys.By exploring the theoretical basis of liver stagnation and the characteristics of pediatric liver stagnation, this paper elaborates on the relationship between pedi-atric liver stagnation and the onset of tic disorder. It is argued that the pathogenesis of childhood tic disorder is root-ed in liver stagnation, manifested by wind and phlegm blocking the meridians and disturbing the mind. Therefore, the treatment should focus on soothing the liver and resolving stagnation to address the root cause, while also eliminating phlegm, calming wind, tranquilizing the mind, promoting blood circulation to remove obstruction, and stopping spasms to address the symptoms. The application of Ningxin Zhidong Tang(宁心止动汤),with modifications based on individual symptoms, has yielded significant therapeutic effects.A case study is presented for verification.
