Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of shaking spine and stretching method in treating chil-dren with early-onset scoliosis of kidney qi insufficiency type. Methods Ninety cases of children with early-onset scoliosis of kidney qi insufficiency type who attended the Tuina Department of Hangzhou Children's Hospital from January 2021 to December 2022 were selected, and were divided into a control group and a treatment group of 45 cases each by using Microsoft Excel to generate random numbers. The control group was treated with the tuina tech-niques,and the treatment group was treated with the tuina method of rocking the spine and stretching. The two groups were treated for 30-45 minutes each time, once a week, and the clinical efficacy was counted after 3 consec-utive months of treatment. Results The total clinical effective rate was 66.67%(30/45)in the control group and 86.67%(39/45)in the treatment group, and the difference between the 2 groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total effective rate of traditional Chinese medicine syndrome in the control group was 57.78%(26/45),while in the treatment group it was 80.00%(36/45),and the difference between the 2 groups was statistically sig-nificant(P<0.05).Comparison of Cobb angle of the 2 groups before treatment, the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05),and it was comparable;after treatment, the Cobb angle of the 2 groups decreased significant-ly,and the difference was statistically significant compared with that of the same group before treatment(P<0.01),and the decrease of the treatment group was more significant(P<0.05).Both groups of children did not experience adverse reactions such as dizziness, nausea, vomiting, chest tightness, chest pain, skin damage, subcutaneous bleed-ing,restricted thoracolumbar movement,or soft tissue damage during the treatment period. Conclusion Rocking spine and stretching method for treating pediatric early-onset scoliosis of kidney qi insufficiency type can effectively reduce the clinical symptoms and improve the Cobb's angle, and it is safe and worthy of clinical promotion and application.
