By reviewing the research literature on external Chinese medicine treatments for pediatric asthma in the past decade, this paper conducts a study and summary from various aspects such as acupoint application, tuina, auricular pressure, acupuncture, moxibustion, and nebulized inhalation of traditional Chinese medicine. The findings indicate that external Chinese medicine treatments can effectively improve the clinical symptoms of pediatric asthma and control asthma attacks. However, there are still limitations and deficiencies, such as inconsistencies in observa-tion indicators, lack of unified diagnostic criteria, and the absence of a unified evaluation standard for therapeutic effects. In the future,it is necessary to strengthen basic research and standardize clinical research, establish unified clinical diagnostic criteria, observation indicators, and efficacy evaluation systems, and delve deeply into the essence of external Chinese medicine treatments to provide better treatment options for children with asthma.
