Professor ZHAN Qiang's experience in Osgood-Schlatter disease based on the theory of"Balance and Secretion"
Based on the theory of"Balance and Secretion",professor ZHAN Qiang pointed out that in the ini-tial stage of Osgood-Schlatter disease(OSD),muscle injury precedes, manifesting as acute swelling and pain in the knee joint and limited mobility, which is categorized as a yang disease.According to the principle that"extreme yin will turn to yang, and extreme yang will turn to yin,"prolonged muscle injury will eventually affect the bones,turn-ing into a yin disease. The knee loses its"balance between yin and yang and secretive essence,"leading to illness.Treatment follows the principle of softening muscles and aligning bones, utilizing layered differentiation of treatment, warming meridians and softening muscles, adjusting the knee and stretching muscles, balancing muscles and bones,as well as lifestyle adjustments and maintenance, ultimately achieving the goal of balancing yin and yang in the knee and harmonizing muscles and bones.A case study is attached for verification.
