Study on the medication rule of traditional Chinese medicine compound prescriptions for the treatment of infantile anorexia based on the Chinese Patent Database
Objective By data mining the patents of traditional Chinese medicine compound formulas for the treatment of infantile anorexia(IA),the pattern of prescription and medication was investigated.Methods The prescription database was established using Excel 2019 based on the data source of the traditional Chinese medicine compound patents for treating IA from the establishment of the database to July 31,2022 included in the patent pub-lication website of the State Intellectual Property Office.Drug frequency statistics,association rules and cluster analy-sis were performed using traditional Chinese medicine inheritance computing platform V3.0,SPSS Modeler 18.0,SPSS Statistics 26.0 and other software,and the results were visualized.Results A total of 257 patented compound prescriptions were included,among which 221 were for internal use and involved 20 Chinese herbal medicines used more than 25 times.The top five herbs were Crataeguspinnatifida,Hordeumvulgaregerminatum,Gallus gallusdomesti-cus,Poriacocos,and Atractylodes Macrocephala,which were mainly sweet,neutral,or warm in nature and primarily associated with the spleen and stomach meridians.These herbs were mainly used to tonify deficiency and promote di-gestion.There were 36 prescriptions for external use,involving 110 Chinese herbal medicines with a total usage fre-quency of 348 times.The number of herbs per prescription ranged from a minimum of 3 to a maximum of 21,avera-ging 9.67 herbs per prescription.The top five herbs in usage frequency were Atractylodes Macrocephala,Crataegus pinnatifida,Citrus reticulata Pericarpium,Hordeum vulgare germinatum,and Gallus gallus domesticus,which were mainly sweet or warm in nature and primarily associated with the spleen and stomach meridians.These herbs were mainly used to tonify deficiency,promote digestion,and regulate qi.High-frequency herbal pairs included Crataegus-pinnatifida-Hordeumvulgaregerminatum,and herbal trios included Crataeguspinnatifida-Hordeumvulgaregerminatum-Massa MedicataFermentata,etc.Network clustering resulted in six herbal groups for internal use prescriptions and three for external use prescriptions.Conclusion Traditional Chinese medicine compound patent treatment of IA mainly fo-cuses on the spleen and stomach meridian,with the principle of invigorating the spleen and appetizing the stomach.It can provide reference for the follow-up clinical treatment of primary diseases and the development of new drugs.
