Clinical observation on 42 cases of children with allergic rhinitis of lung qi deficiency and cold pattern treated with sequential therapy of nasal diseases in traditional Chinese medicine combined with acupuncture
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of sequential therapy of nasal diseases in traditional Chi-nese medicine(TCM)combined with acupuncture in the treatment of children with allergic rhinitis of lung qi defi-ciency and cold pattern.Methods A total of 84 children with allergic rhinitis of lung qi deficiency and cold pattern treated in the Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion,Wenzhou Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine from January 2020 to January 2023 were selected and randomly divided into a control group and a treatment group,with 42 cases in each group.The control group was treated with oral desloratadine dry suspension,while the treatment group was treated with sequential therapy of nasal diseases in TCM combined with acupuncture.Both groups were treated for 7 days as one course of treatment,and the efficacy was evaluated after 2 courses of treatment.Results Before treatment,there were no statistically significant differences in the scores of main and sec-ondary symptoms between the two groups(P＞0.05),indicating comparability.After treatment,the scores of main and secondary symptoms in both groups were significantly lower than those before treatment in the same group(P＜0.05),and the decrease was more significant in the treatment group(P＜0.05).Before treatment,there was no statistically significant difference in the quality of life scores between the two groups(P＞0.05),indicating compara-bility.At 7 days,14 days after treatment,and 1 week after treatment,the quality of life scores in both groups were significantly lower than those before treatment in the same group(P＜0.05),and the decrease was more significant in the treatment group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Sequential therapy of nasal diseases in TCM combined with acu-puncture can effectively alleviate clinical symptoms and improve the quality of life of children with allergic rhinitis of lung qi deficiency and cold pattern,which is worthy of clinical application and promotion.
