Research progress on the mechanism of Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture therapy in regulating dopamine system for intervention in childhood tic disorders
Research on the mechanism of Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture therapy in intervening in childhood tic disorders has made progress.A common angle of exploration in current traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)research is how to effectively regulate the dopamine(DA)system to maintain the effective concentration of DA within a reasonable range, thereby avoiding excessive excitation and other adverse effects. This paper reviews the experimental research literature published in the past decade on the mechanisms of self-designed compound pre-scriptions,classical prescriptions, and acupuncture therapy in regulating the DA system for intervention in childhood tic disorders. This review not only holds great significance for future research on the deep-level mechanisms of TCM treatment for this disease but also provides more fundamental scientific research evidence for clinical practice in this field.
