Practice of and reflection on the localization of Canadian instructional skills workshop:a case study of Chengdu University of TCM
Canadian instructional skills workshop has been recognized by countries around the world as an effective mode for teacher training program,because of its solid theoretical foundation,innovative training activities,short duration,and remarkable effects,thus highly applicable in Chinese higher education.For example,Chengdu University of TCM has localized the workshop to explore its own training programs suitable for its new teachers.This article introduces the innovative application of the workshop in Chengdu University of TCM from the three perspectives of background,processes,and effects.Our practical experience was then summarized as follows:to localize the workshop to yield acutual positive results in China,we need to facilitate theoretical and practical innovation,focus on systematic project design,highlight values and cultural guidance and develop qualified facilitator teams.
