Empirical analysis and reflections on the 2022 National Higher Education Teaching Achievement Awards in the medical field
Based on an analysis of 84 medical-related projects that won the 2022 National Higher Education Teaching Achievement Awards, examining the overall situation, participants, institutions, and thematic distribution, the study reveals that 5.27% of universities nationwide won medical projects, accounting for 9.81% of the total awards in higher education. All projects formed teaching reform teams, with nearly 80% involving 10 to 15 participants, but the proportion of projects led by full-time teachers was relatively low. Among the first-completing institutions (50 universities),there were imbalances between "Double First-Class" and "non-Double First-Class" universities, between TCM,Western medicine, and other institutions, and among universities in eastern, central, and western regions. The achievements are practice-oriented and aligned with contemporary trends, but the topics and disciplines are unevenly distributed. The study suggests that medical education reform should prioritize medical ethics,be goal-oriented,aim for national strength, and target specific characteristics, while practicing the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education and promoting coordinated, differentiated, and high-quality development.
