The impact of promoting common prosperity on economic resilience in the Yangtze River Delta region
In the face of profound changes not seen in a century,resilience is essential to achieving high-quality development and seamless economic operation.At the same time,common prosperity is a key objective of Chinese path to modernization,it is yet unknown how regional promotion of common prosperity would affect the region's economic resilience.This paper measured common prosperity and economic resilience,examined the features of the spatio-temporal pattern's evolution,and used spatial panel Durbin model to investi-gate the relationship between common prosperity and economic resilience based on panel data from 40 cities in the Yangtze River Delta region above prefecture level between 2013 and 2020.The findings indicated that:①At the temporal level,the Yangtze River Delta re-gion's common prosperity and economic resilience levels generally exhibited an increasing trend at the temporal level,and these rising trends were progressively converging.②At the spatial level,the Yangtze River Delta region exhibited a relatively stable spatial distribu-tion pattern of common prosperity and economic resilience,with distinct spatial differentiations of"high in the southeast and low in the northwest"and"spreading to the periphery with the four cities of Shanghai,Hangzhou,Nanjing,and Suzhou as the center",respective-ly,at the spatial level.Simultaneously,the evolution process demonstrated the phenomena of high-value cities'advantages being locked in.③ Regarding impact,the Yangtze River Delta region's successful promotion of common prosperity had a significant positive promo-tion effect on local economic resilience in addition to having a significant positive spillover effect on the economic resilience of nearby cities.
