Study on the active substances and antibacterial effects of extracts from Jatropha curcas L.
In this study,ethanol-acetic acid(1:1)reflux technique was conducted to obtain J.curcas extract JE coumarins from leaves. Then, component quantification identification was measured via Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry(LC-MS).The an-tibacterial function of coumarin compounds was verified by filter paper technique.Minimum Inhibitory Concentration(MIC)and Mini-mum Bactericidal Concentration(MBC)were measured via Broth microdilution and growth curve verification. As a result, the main component was Bergapten with 18.66%,which was firstly found in J.curcas extracts.Meanwhile,Baicalein(2.76%)and Rhoifolin(0.16%)were also discovered in the leaves extract.Antibacterial experiment resulted that coumarin could significantly suppress the growth of Staphylococcus aureus(S.anreus)and Escherichia coli(E.coli).The MIC of Jatropha curcas extracts to S.anreus and E.coli are 1.56 mg/mL and 3.125 mg/mL whereas the MBC are both 6.25mg/mL.
