Digital economy is a new power to promote high-quality development model with both ecological and economic bene-fits.Based on the panel data of China's 31 provinces from 2005 to 2021,this paper constructed an evaluation system of DEQ(Digital e-conomy,ecological protection and high-quality economic development).This paper used the entropy method to measure the compre-hensive scores of the three systems.This paper used the coupled coordinated development model to observe the spatio-temporal differ-entiation characteristics,and the panel Tobit model to analyze the factors affecting the degree of coupled coordination.The results showed that:①In terms of development level,the three systems all showed the characteristics of continuous rise,among which the digital economy subsystem has the greatest improvement.②In terms of sources of structural differences,the main source of national differences had changed from high-quality economic development to digital economy,and the sources and timing changes of differences in the sev-en economic zones were different.③The level of DEQ coordination degree in China improved from moderate disorder to near disorder.The coordination degree of seven economic zones improved year by year in terms of time and presented a spatial distribution pattern of East China>South China>North China>Central China>Northeast China>Southwest China>Northwest China.④The influence of different factors on the coordination degree of the three systems in the country and the seven regions was heterogeneous.
