Research on the spatial characteristics and activation of red cultural resources in Fujian Province
Red cultural resources are a witness to the glorious century-long journey of the Communist Party of China and an im-portant driving force behind Chinese modernization development.Taking Fujian Province as a case study, this paper adopted mathemati-cal statistics and ArcGIS spatial analysis method to explore the spatial characteristics of 1131 red cultural resources, investigated the ap-proaches of the activation and utilization of red cultural resources in the region. The results showed that:①Red cultural resources in Fu-jian Province were classified into five categories:revolutionary institution sites, historical event sites, martyrs'cemeteries, residences of revolutionary figures, and comprehensive memorial halls.Among them, the number of revolutionary institution sites was the largest.②The distribution of resources exhibited a pattern of more resources in the southwest and fewer in the northeast, with a concentration in two cities of Longyan and Sanming in western Fujian.③The nearest neighbor index of each type of red cultural resources indicated an agglomerative pattern. The overall distribution presented a"one zone, one belt, multiple cores"feature. The core agglomeration area of revolutionary institution sites was similar to the overall patchy agglomeration area.Historical event sites showed a patchy distribution, while residences of revolutionary figures appeared in a"beaded necklace"pattern.Martyrs'cemeteries and monuments,as well as com-prehensive memorial halls, tended to be distributed in point-like patterns.Based on these findings, this paper proposed approaches for activation and utilization of red cultural resources, including spatial activation, educational activation, cultural and tourism activation, and digital activation.
