China has built a moderately prosperous society in all respects,and is now in the process of consolidating and expanding the achievements in poverty alleviation.This study,based on a modified sustainable tourism livelihood theory,focuses on the ethnic re-gions of Southeast Chongqing as an illustrative case.This paper quantitatively measured the effectiveness of rural tourism in consolida-ting poverty alleviation outcomes and analyzed the influencing factors using a structural equation model.The main findings were as fol-lows:①Although the economic,cultural,social,and environmental aspects were moving forward consistently in consolidating poverty al-leviation,there was a need for a well-established interactive mechanism to facilitate coordinated development among the four systems.The current level of development was only moderately coordinated.②The influencing factors of rural tourism in consolidating the a-chievements of poverty alleviation in the ethnic areas of southeast Chongqing were ranked in descending order of importance as economic capital,human capital,natural capital,institutional capital,and social capital,all of which had a significant positive impact.Based on these findings,this paper proposed strategic recommendations focusing on optimizing economic and human capital,improving institution-al and natural capital,and strengthening cultural and social identity for consolidating the achievements in poverty alleviation.
