Research on forestry carbon sink participation in carbon market from the perspective of CCER restart
The carbon emissions trading market(carbon market)is an important carrier and driving mechanism for China to ac-tively implement its climate change strategy and implement the"dual carbon"goals. This study adopted the perspective of restarting the National Certified Voluntary Emission Reduction(CCER)mechanism, conducted a comprehensive analysis of the research conducted by both domestic and international scholars on China's carbon market and forestry carbon sinks, and thoroughly examined the implica-tions of the CCER restart on the carbon market. As a major component of CCER,this paper focused on the problems faced by forestry carbon sinks entering the carbon market. The research showed that:①Diverse domestic forestry carbon sequestration projects and market mechanisms had been identified through research, including CDM international projects,CCER national projects, and local forestry car-bon sequestration projects.Currently,CCER served as a pilot for carbon emission trading in China and held significant importance as a trading commodity within the national carbon market.②CCER's participation in the national carbon market could enhance the range of carbon finance products, boost the vitality of the carbon market, and foster the diversified growth of the carbon finance market.③The participation of forestry carbon sank in carbon market trading still faced problems such as immature methodology, institutional con-straints,unclear property rights, and trading risks. In light of the aforementioned concerns, this paper puts forth recommendations inclu-ding enhancing the policy framework for carbon sink trading and defining the property rights of forestry carbon sinks.
