Spatio-temporal evolution characteristics and driving forces of county urbanization level in the Xiangjiang River Basin
Counties are crucial for integrating urban and rural development.They also facilitate the revitalization of rural areas.The orderly development and optimized layout of county urbanization are significant.They are pivotal for promoting the equal exchange of ur-ban and rural factors.They also aid in the optimization and adjustment of industrial structure.And they help with the optimal utilization of resources and markets.This paper used the entropy method to fully rate the urbanization level of the Xiangjiang River Basin from 2005 to 2020.It analyzed the area's spatial and temporal trends and their laws.It also examined the driving forces of urbanization in the area's counties.The results showed that:①From the perspective of temporal changes,the overall level of urbanization development in counties in the Xiangjiang River Basin was on the rise,and the gap between counties was constantly narrowing.②From the perspective of spatial changes,until 2020,the spatial layout of urbanization in counties in the Xiangjiang River Basin showed a characteristic of"north-south dual core".③ From the perspective of spatio-temporal differentiation,the development level of urbanization in the Xiangjiang River Basin presented clear center periphery structure,with the distribution center moving towards the northeast direction,and in recent years,its spatial distribution hadshown a clustering trend.④From the perspective of spatial correlation,the overall spatial distribution of counties in the Xiangjiang River Basin showed a significant positive correlation,and the correlation was strong.The spatial agglomeration degree of local areas showed an upward trend,and the agglomeration degree in the middle and upper reaches was signifi-cantly higher than that in the downstream areas.⑤From the perspective of driving forces,the urban population and total retail sales of consumer goods had the strongest driving effect on the urbanization development of counties in the Xiangjiang River Basin.
