Spatial pattern and formation mechanism of museum industry development level in the Yangtze River Delta Region
Museums are not only important places for historical and cultural education but also key elements in the provision of re-gional public cultural services.By constructing an evaluation index system for the development level of the museum industry and emplo-ying research methods such as the entropy weight method, comprehensive evaluation model, and geographical detector, this study ex-plores the spatial pattern and formation mechanism of the museum industry in the Yangtze River Delta Region. The results showed that the overall development level of the museum industry in the Yangtze River Delta Region exhibited strong spatial differences, presenting a core-periphery structure with Shanghai,Nanjing, and Hangzhou as the core areas, expanding outward, and displaying typical spatial imbalance. The general public budget expenditure, the proportion of the tertiary industry, the total number of tourist receptions, and the number of national intangible cultural heritage items within the region had strong explanatory power for the spatial differentiation of the development level of the museum industry. The formation of the spatial development pattern of the museum industry in the Yangtze River Delta Region was the result of the interaction of economic foundation, social environment, and cultural resources.
