Spatial and temporal pattern evolution of energy efficiency in Liaoning Based on the DEA-ESDA Model
Improving energy efficiency is an important method to solve China' s energy predicament, especially in Liaoning province. This article takes 14 prefecture-level cities in Liaoning as the research object and regards energy input, labor input, capital input and expected output as the measurement index.Based on data from 2000 to 2012,we first used super efficiency DEA to measure the value of energy efficiency of Liaoning province.Based on the value of energy efficiency,we analyzed differential characteristics of overall energy efficiency of time and space in Liaoning. We used ESDA spatial analysis function to measure the temporal and spatial pattern evolution characteristics of energy efficiency in Liaoning, then applied Markov modeling to conclude the regional transformation of energy efficiency. We found that regarding temporal and spatial differentiation characteristics, energy efficiency in the cities of Liaoning shows a rising trend year by year except for Fushun.High energy efficiency areas includes Shenyang,Dalian and Fushun.Energy efficiency shows significant spatial correlation and reflects a trend of convergence. The energy efficiency difference of cities in Liaoning is narrowing.Regarding local patterns,Shenyang and Dalian are "H-H" type areas; "H-H" type areas gradually extend to coastal areas. The "L-L" type areas are mainly concentrated in Huludao,Dandong and Benxi.Energy efficiency stability from strong to weak are middle-high areas,middle-lower areas, high areas and low areas.Energy efficiency trends in middle-high areas and middle-low areas are expanding year by year.
