Spatial variation and strategic pattern optimization of operation efficiency of rural tourism in Chongqing
Based on investment data for 38 districts and counties in the Chongqing City in 2014 regarding operation capital, labor force rural tourism, rural tourism resources, rural economic efficiency, social efficiency and environmental benefit outputs,a supper-efficient SBM model and ARCGIS spatial analysis platform were applied to investigate efficiency of rural tourism and variation. The leading factors of efficiency loss in each evaluation unit and spatial variation were recalled and depicted. We found that from the point view of mathematical features of efficiency, the development of rural tourism in Chongqing is still at a primary stage and investment in capital, labor force and service institutions is insufficient. From the perspective of the features of spatial variation of efficiency, the urban functional area has been in the stage of scale benefit degression and the efficiency loss caused by excessive investment is universal. For example, the northeast and southeast areas of Chongqing are still in the stage of scale benefit degression and there exists universal efficiency loss caused by excessive investment.Efficiency loss caused by excessive undesirable output is widespread on the outskirts of the main city, west and east.On the basis of the above research, according to operation efficiency of rural tourism in the city area and spatial variation in loss, the scheme of spatial strategic pattern optimization of rural tourism, namely,‘one core, one circle, two rings and seven sections’ is discussed and a differentiation development strategy constructed.
