A review on the real-world research on TCM treatment of liver disease
Real-world research refers to the non-random selection of treatment methods according to the actual condition and wishes of patients based on a larger sample size to evaluate the external effectiveness and safety of interventions. The real-world research has been applied more and more in clinical research, and its development provides new directions for the scientific research of TCM.Using real-world research as a method can exert great research advantages and value.TCM has the characteristics of experience, individuality and heterogeneity in the treatment process, and the holistic view of TCM is in line with the patient-centered concept in the real world. In addition,as a large country with liver disease,China has provided sufficient sample size for the real world study of liver disease, and has unique advantages in the treatment of liver disease. In order to understand the research progress of treating liver disease in TCM in the real-world research, and to provide a reference for the real-world research on treating liver disease in TCM,the author searched and screened relevant literature and found that there were 31 Chinese literature of real-world research on TCM treatment of liver disease. These papers are mainly divided into 3 categories. The one is on the evaluation of clinical efficacy, such as the clinical efficacy of the Dahuang Zhechong capsules(大黄䗪虫胶囊),Ruangan Wan(软肝丸),Biejia Jian Wan(鳖甲煎丸).The second is the research on the specific treatment methods of liver diseases, such as the method of tonifying the kidney and generating marrow to form the liver, replenishing Qi(气)and blood method, and toxin-phlegm-blood stasis-deficiency method. The third is the research on specific liver diseases, involving hepatitis, cirrhosis, liver tumor and non-alcoholic fatty liver, among which chronic hepatitis is the most in-depth research. However, there are relatively fewer researches on the empirical prescriptions of famous TCM practitioners, etiology and pathogenesis, therapeutic applications and other types of liver diseases, and the distribution of scientific research teams is relatively concentrated. The use of real-world data is also not sufficient,so there is still a large research space.
