A review on warm acupuncture in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic inflammatory and autoimmune disease that mainly affects the synovial joints and can eventually lead to joint deformities and even fractures.It has the characteristics of high recurrence rate,high disability rate and long course of disease,which seriously affects the quality of life of patients.The cause of rheumatoid arthritis is complex and unclear,so far,there are no specific drugs and therapies to treat rheumatoid arthritis.In recent years,although the drugs used in modern medicine to treat rheumatoid arthritis can control clinical symptoms quickly and delay the disease process to a certain extent,the problems such as large with a fewer adverse reactions and high cost have become increasingly prominent.Rheumatoid arthritis belongs to the category of"Bi(痹)syndrome"of traditional Chinese medicine.The treatment of rheumatoid arthritis in traditional Chinese medicine has become a research hotspot.Traditional Chinese medicine has the advantages of multi-pathway,multi-target and multi-effect in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.Traditional Chinese medicine external treatment of rheumatoid arthritis has been widely used in clinic,among which warm acupuncture treatment of rheumatoid arthritis has a long history,with a fewer adverse reactions and remarkable effects.At present,warm acupuncture and moxibustion has significant effects on relieving clinical symptoms,delaying the course of the disease and improving the prognosis in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis,either in the form of being applied alone,or combined with Western medicine,or combined with Chinese medicinal materials,or combined with other external treatment of traditional Chinese medicine(acupoint application,fumigation,hot treatment,acupoint cupping therapy,acupoint bloodletting,medium frequency drug penetration,acupoint injection),and combined with ozone self-blood therapy,and it is of high safety,with a fewer adverse reactions.This article mainly reviews the clinical research progress of warm acupuncture in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis in the past five years,in order to provide a better theoretical basis for the clinical use of warm acupuncture in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.
