Clinical effects of cervical exercise in treating 60 cases of cervical spondylosis
Objective:To compare the clinical efficacy of the cervical exercise and the conventional Mi(米)word exercise and the effects on neck pain and pressure pain threshold in the treatment of cervical spondylosis. Methods:A total of 60 patients with cervical spondylosis enrolled in Zhejiang University of Chinese Medicine from November to December 2020 were selected, and 60 patients with cervical spondylosis were randomly divided into the exercise group and the conventional Mi word exercise group by random number table method, with 30 patients in each group.Patients in the exercise group took the exercise method"Crane Drinking Water"and patients in the conventional Mi word exercise group took the conventional Mi word exercise.Patients in both groups exercised once a day,and 4 weeks was a course of exercise. Before treatment, the patients were given a screening of pressure pain points, and the results showed that the pressure pain points of patients in the two groups were mostly at the Jianjin points(肩井穴,GB21)and the C3 Jiaji points(夹脊穴,EX-B2),which were used as the collection points of the pressure pain threshold. Before and after treat-ment,the visual analogue scale(VAS)scores, the Northwick Park neck-pain questionnaire(NPQ)scores and pressure pain threshold(PPT)of Jianjin points and C3 Jiaji points were recorded and used to evaluate the efficacy. Results:The scores of VAS and NPQ were decreased in two groups after 4 weeks of treatment(P<0.05).The pressure pain threshold of Jianjin points in two groups were both signifi-cantly improved after treatment(P<0.05).The pressure pain threshold of C3 Jiaji points in the exercise group was significantly improved(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference in the other group(P>0.05).The total efficacy rate in the exercise group was 86.67%(26/30),which was higher than 63.33%(19/30)in the conventional Mi word exercises group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Both the exercise therapy and conventional Mi word exercises could relieve neck pain of cervical spondylosis, but the former has better efficacy.
