A review on the TCM pathogenesis and treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis
Postmenopausal osteoporosis(PMOP)is a common clinical systemic metabolic bone disease characterized by systemic bone pain and susceptibility to fracture. It is characterized by high morbidity, extremely high disability rate and high mortality rate, high medical cost, low treatment dependence, low diagnosis rate and treatment rate.Later,it is usually complicated by lumbar spine, wrist and hip fractures. In particular, the concurrent hip fracture is known as"the last fracture of life".With the acceleration of the aging rate of the social population in recent years, the incidence has also increased significantly, seriously affecting the quality of life and living standards of patients, consuming the limited medical resources of the country, and its prevention and treatment has become a global public health concern.Traditional Chinese medicine classifies it into"Bone flaccidity","Bone paralysis","Bone withering"and other categories, and believes that its onset is closely related to the deficiency of kidney essence, liver Yin(阴)blood deficiency, spleen and stomach weakness, blood stasis blocking collaterality or Shaoyang(少阳)channel Qi(气)obstruction leading to zang-fu organs(脏腑)Qi and blood insufficiency, unfavorable Shaoyang channel Qi.At present,it is mainly treated with Western medicine, which has obvious adverse reactions while obtaining clinical efficacy. With the deepening of research on the prevention and treatment of PMOP in traditional Chinese medicine in recent years,TCM treatment of osteoporosis has received increasing attention.A large number of studies and clinical drug application experience have shown that traditional Chinese medicine can achieve clinical efficacy while effectively avoiding the adverse reactions caused by Western medicine treatment, showing good clinical effects and unique advantages. This article summarizes the recognition of the name, etiology and pathogenesis of PMOP,and the clinical effects of Chinese medicinal materials or compound treatment and non-drug treatment,in order to provide references for the clinical prevention and treatment of PMOP.
