The key points of clinical application of Fuzi and Banxia based on TCM Shiceng Pulse theory
Shiceng Pulse(十层脉)of traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)is a pulse diagnosis method Proposed by Professor XIONG Mingfeng, which is derived from the theory of pulse science of BIANQUE.The Shiceng Pulses of TCM includes ten layers'pulses of the lung, large intestine, heart, small intestine, spleen, stomach, liver, gallbladder, kidney and bladder. The combination of Fuzi(Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata)and Banxia(Rhizoma Pinelliae)is one of the"Eighteen Incompatibility"of TCM,which means that the combination of two kinds of drugs may cause adverse reactions of increasing toxicity or decreasing efficacy;therefore,it is not recommended in clinical practice. After textual research,it is found that from the ancient classical medicine, there is the use of the combination of Fuzi and Banxia, and Professor XIONG also believes that Fuzi is opposite to unprocessed Banxia, but in clinical practice, processed Banxia is often used.So on the basis of the treatment of pulse differentiation and disease differentiation,Professor XIONG uses the information from Shiceng Pulse of TCM,and then puts forward the application of the combination of Fuzi and processed Banxia in the treatment of most of the difficult clinical diseases, which has the function of activating and reducing dryness, warming Yang(阳)and eliminating phlegm. It is effective in clinical diagnosis and has no adverse reactions. In this paper, through sorting out the ancient classical theoretical origin and modern research on the compatibility of Fuzi and Banxia, combined with the analysis of Professor XIONG's two typical clinical test cases, the safety, feasibility and effectiveness of the clinical use of Fuzi and Banxia compatibility is explored and verified, then the clinical application and function characteristics of Fuzi and Banxia compatibility are summarized and found, which also provides more powerful evidence for the clinical use of"Incompatibility"and"Mutual inhibition"of Chinese medicinal materials.
