Three successful cases of ZHANG Binghou of treating diseases with classic prescriptions
Professor ZHANG Binghou,a famous TCM doctor in China,has been engaged in TCM practice for more than 50 years and accu-mulated rich clinical experience.The Professor is known as the"Monster Sacre"in the TCM field.Master ZHANG is good at using classical pre-scriptions in clinic,especially in treating various kinds of complicated and miscellaneous diseases,which achieves excellent effects.The author has the honor to learn from him and benefits a lot.The following is a summary of the Master ZHANG's clinical application of classical prescriptions in the treatment of"facial wind disease","insomnia disease"and"cough",and the diagnosis and treatment experience and drug characteristics are summarized.Facial wind disease is called trigeminal neuralgia in Western medicine.Its pathogenesis is complex and the patients are in extreme pain when the attack occurs.Western medicine mostly uses drugs to relieve pain or surgery to block nerve branches.Master ZHANG concludes that the disease is mostly caused by insufficient liver blood,liver-kidney Yin(阴)deficiency,liver-wind disturbance on Yangming(阳明)channel,and it is often accompanied by pathogenic factors such as blood stasis,phlegm,wind and other evil spirits,resulting in meridian obstruction.Clinical application of classic prescrip-tion of Modified Zisheng Qingyang decoction(滋生青阳汤)as the treatment basis has achieved a good effect.Insomnia disease,commonly known as insomnia is a clinical common disease,but the treatment effect is often dissatisfactory.Master ZHANG believes that the key to its pathogenesis lies in the dysfunction of Qi(气)and blood in the body and the viscera,which leads to the imbalance of Yin and Yang(阳)and the disorder of the mind.The clin-ical formulation is Erren Anshen decoction(二仁安神汤),which is based on the Chaozaoren(Fried jujube kernel),Baiziren(Baizi kernel),Zhenzhumu(Concha Margaritifera)and Zibeichi(Concha Mauritiae),and combined with the classic prescription of Huanglian Ejiao decoction(黄连阿胶汤)to tonify the heart and spleen,nourish the kidney Yin,make the heart and kidney interact,and calm and resolve the mind,which can better relieve the insom-nia.Clinically,Master ZHANG divides cough into wind cold cough,heat cough,lung dryness cough and lung-kidney Yin deficiency cough,and treats them indivicually bassed on TCM syndrome differentiation,which achieves a good effect.
