A review on PI3K/Akt signaling pathway in the pathogenesis and TCM treatment of hypertension
Hypertension is a chronic disease that seriously endangers human health,and is the main cause of death of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in China.In recent years,the prevalence of unhealthy lifestyles and the acceleration of urbanization have led to a significant increase in the prevalence of hypertension.The number of people with hypertension in China has exceeded 270 million.The prevention and treatment of hypertension is in urgent need of breakthrough.The pathogenesis of hypertension is complex,and it is not completely clear at present.In recent years,the research progress of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/protein kinase B(PI3K/Akt)signaling pathway in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases has attracted the attention of scholars.PI3K/Akt is an important cellular signaling pathway in the body.A large number of clinical studies have confirmed that PI3K/Akt signaling pathway can participate in a variety of pathophysiological processes,such as vascular endothelial cell injury,oxidative stress,immune inflammation,macrophage polarization.It plays an important role in the pathogenesis and treatment of hypertension,and may become a new therapeutic target.Traditional Chinese medicine can give full play to the advantages of multi-target and multi-path in Chinese patent medicine,decoction,compound prescription,acupuncture and other aspects,and effectively interfere with PI3K/Akt cell signaling pathway,so as to achieve the purpose of the prevention and treatment of hypertension.This article reviews the pathogenesis and TCM treatment of hypertension based on PI3K/Akt signaling pathway,in order to provide new ideas for clinical prevention and treatment of hypertension.
