A Meta-analysis of the clinical efficacy of enteral nutrition plus the Sijunzi decoction on postoperative gastrointestinal tumor
Objective:To systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of enteral nutrition plus the Sijunzi decoction(四君子汤)on postoperative gastrointestinal tumor. Methods:Foreign electronic databases, including Cochrane Library,PubMed,and EMbase databases,as well as Chinese databases such as SinoMed,CNKI,VIP,and Wangfang Data were searched by computer to retrieve relevant literature.Journal supplements and conference papers without electronic versions were retrieved manually.Studies of clinical randomized controlled trials about enteral nutrition plus the Sijunzi decoction for postoperative gastrointestinal tumor were screened out and included finally. The language of literature was limited to Chinese or English, and the search time range was from the establishment of each database to October 1,2022.Two researchers independently extracted the data of the literature, and assessed the methodological quality of the literature and analyzed the results.A Meta-analysis was conducted by RevMan 5.2.3 software. Results:A total of 13 RCT studies were included in this study, and the quality of these studies was not high. The Meta-analysis results showed that the cellular immune indicators, humoral immune indicators, and nutritional indicators of enteral nutrition plus the Sijunzi decoction were higher than those of enteral nutrition alone after gastrointestinal tumor surgery(P<0.05),but the incidence of adverse reactions was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion:Due to the relatively small number of included papers, inconsistent literature quality, and Chinese literature as the original literature, the current evidence cannot confirm whether this treatment method is fully effective in clinical practice. However, from the current studies, its therapeutic advantages are worth further exploration. It is particularly necessary to conduct high-quality multi-center large sample randomized double-blind controlled trials to verify its efficacy.
