Research progress in the treatment of chronic fatigue syndrome with integreted Chinese and Western medicine
The main clinical manifestations of chronic fatigue syndrome(CFS)are fatigue and weakness, which may be accompanied by sleep disorders, physical joint pain and other symptoms, but there is often no abnormality in physical examination and related auxiliary examination, which seriously affects patients'normal work and life.Western medicine has not reached an accurate conclusion on the pathogenesis of chronic fatigue syndrome. It is considered that the syndrome is caused by many factors such as mental pressure, bad living habits, mental and physical overwork and viral infection, which leads to the dysfunction of nerve, endocrine, immune and other multi-system functions. The treatment methods are mainly divided into drug therapy and non-drug therapy. In traditional Chinese medicine, chronic fatigue syndrome belongs to the categories of"deficiency fatigue"and"five fatigue",its incidence is closely related to external pathogenic factors, excessive strain, emotional discomfort and other factors, and is closely related to the lungs, spleen, kidney and other viscera. The treatment methods mainly adopt traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping and other traditional Chinese medicine characteristics therapies. The incidence of chronic fatigue syndrome in Chinese population is increasing. Therefore,it is particularly important to seek a green and effective and suitable intervention method with few side effects for the general population. This paper expounds the epidemiological characteristics of chronic fatigue syndrome, introduces the understanding of TCM and Western medicine on the pathogenesis of chronic fatigue syndrome, introduces the gold standard of clinical diagnosis of chronic fatigue syndrome, and compares the differences between TCM and Western medicine in clinical treatment of chronic fatigue syndrome. This paper focuses on the remarkable results achieved by domestic experts and teams in the treatment of chronic fatigue syndrome with a variety of TCM characteristic therapies, indicating that TCM has broad development space in the treatment of chronic fatigue syndrome and relieving its clinical symptoms.
