Discussion on the experience in treating alopecia based on the theory of lung-heat
The traditional treatment of alopecia is mainly from the liver and kidney,and the clinical alopecia is also related to the lung.Professor LIU Rongkui summarized a large number of clinical experience,and according to the theoretical basis summarized by doctors of all ages,he treated alopecia from the perspective of lung-heat.He believes that lung-heat runs through the whole pathogenesis process:at the initial stage,patients have insufficient lung Qi(气)and are easy to be attacked by heat.In the later stage,heat enters the body,causing a series of symptoms such as damage to the body fluid,phlegm and blood stasis,blood damage,and viscera damage.Professor LIU divides the syndrome types of patients with lung heat alopecia into wind dryness injuring the lung syndrome in the early stage,phlegm and blood stasis depressing the lung syndrome in the middle stage,and Qi and Yin(阴)deficiency syndrome in the late stage.In terms of treatment,he emphasized the principle of giving priority to prevention for patients with lung damage due to wind dryness,detoxification for patients with lung depression due to phlegm and stasis,and tonic for patients with deficiency of both Qi and Yin.The drugs for preventing wind,clearing heat and tonifying deficiency are regarded as the sovereign medicinal.External treatment can wash away the pathogenic factors of hair and nourish the deficiency of hair roots with traditional Chinese medicine.It can be combined with head meridian massage to relax meridians and activate collaterals.Professor LIU has a obtained remarkable curative effect on alopecia by combining internal and external therapies of traditional Chinese medicine.This paper analyzes the treatment of alopecia by the theory of lung-heat combined with two proven cases,in order to provide reference for clinical practice.
