A study on the treatment of allergic rhinitis by XI Hong
Allergic rhinitis is a non-infectious chronic inflammatory disease of the nasal mucosa characterized by sudden and repeated nasal itching,sneezing,runny nose and nasal congestion.The clinical etiology and pathogenesis of allergic rhinitis are complex.If the course of the disease is prolonged,asthma can be induced.This disease has a high global incidence and wide distribution,which seriously threatens the life and health of patients.Therefore,it has become an urgent need to find simple,convenient,cheap and effective methods for the prevention and treatment of allergic rhinitis in clinic.At present,the commonly used methods in clinical practice are mostly drug therapy,surgical therapy,and immunotherapy in Westem medicine.The time and money costs of treatment are high,and the acceptance of patients is low.Traditional Chinese medicine is relatively more suitable.There are many famous doctors in the Xujiang basin.XI Hong,a medical expert,is proficient in medical theory and has excellent acupuncture skills,especially in the treatment of nasal diseases.He is the representative figure of the laryngology of the Xujiang acupuncture school,and has unique views on the etiology,pathogenesis and acupoint selection of allergic rhinitis.He believes that the main etiology and pathogenesis of allergic rhinitis are"wind-cold assailing the exterior""lung and spleen Qi deficiency""spleen and kidney Yang deficiency""Qi deficiency and Qi depression fever",which is most closely related to the weakness of Qi and blood in the lung,spleen and kidney.In the treatment of allergic rhinitis,he gave attention to reinforcing and reducing,selected acupoints accurately,and achieved good curative effects.This paper analyzes the treatment of allergic rhinitis in XI Hong's representative works Xi Hong Fu(《席弘赋》)and Shen Ying Jing(《神应经》),discusses his original views on the etiology and pathogenesis of allergic rhinitis and the selection of acupoints for treatment,in order to provide a beneficial reference for the clinical practice of traditional Chinese medicine in the diagnosis and treatment of allergic rhinitis.
