A review on the TCM treatment of cholinergic urticaria
Cholinergic urticaria is a subtype of chronic induced urticaria, and its pathogenesis is not clear at present. Most of the patients are adolescents, and the disease often occurs after exercise, heat exposure, eating spicy food, feeling stressed and sweating.Symptoms include red wheal, itching, pain, etc.,in severe cases, there are even dizziness, nausea, breathing difficulties, which are life-threatening.The disease has a long course and frequent attacks, which seriously affects the quality of life of patients.Western medicine treats cholinergic urticaria mainly with antihista-mines and hormones, the curative effect is limited, and it is easy to relapse.Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the disease belongs to the"addiction rash"category, and the disease is closely related to the pathogenic wind, which can be divided into internal and external causes, and the disease is induced by the combination of pathogenic wind and cold, heat, dampness and blood stasis in the patient.According to the characteristics of the disease, special attention should be given to the aspects of emotion, sweating, diet, constitution, etc.,and choose the prescription flexibly.Traditional Chinese medicine has the advantages of good long-term curative effects and low recurrence rate in the clinical treatment of this disease. In addition,a number of studies have adopted the treatment method of the integrative medicine, and the comprehensive effective rate and recurrence rate are obviously better than that of simple Western medicine treatment, the effect is faster, and the compliance of patients is improved, which is worthy of further discussion and summary.By re-viewing the relevant literature on the treatment of cholinergic urticaria in traditional Chinese medicine, the etiology and pathogenesis of urticaria are sum-marized and divided into five aspects, which are discussed from the imbalance of water and fire, liver dysfunction,wind-heat invading lung, disturbance of Ying and Wei(营 卫),dampness-heat of spleen and stomach, respectively. In terms of external treatment of traditional Chinese medicine, various characteristic therapies such as acupoint acupuncture, acupoint embedding, acupoint injection and self-blood therapy are expounded,in order to provide reference for the clinical treatment.
