Treating sore and ulcer diseases by the sweating method in Yangke Xinde Ji based on the theory of giving pathogenic factors a way out
According to traditional Chinese medicine,all pathogenic factors can be called evil,and the relationship between vital energy and pathogenic factor runs through the whole process of diseases.Sore and ulcer diseases are caused by the physical evil such as blood stasis,edema,pus and decay,which leads to the disorder operation of Qi(气)and blood and the imbalance of Yin(阴)and Yang(阳)in the body.The progress of pathogenic factors has certain rules,and early method of"giving pathogenic factors a way out"has a decisive role in ameliorating the prognosis and outcome of sore and ulcer diseases.GAO Bingjun,a famous TCM practitioner in the Qing Dynasty,inherited and developed the relevant theories in the classic works of traditional Chinese medicine such as Huangdi Neijing(《黄帝内经》)and Shanghan Zabing Lun(《伤寒杂病论》),combined with many years of clinical experience,and believed that the imbalance of sweat excretion was related to the occurrence of sore and ulcer diseases.Yangke Xinde Ji(《疡科心得集》)is GAO Bingjun's work that integrated plenty of classical theory and clinical treatment as a guiding ideology in understanding and treating sore and ulcer diseases.In this work,adhering to the concept of giving pathogenic factors a way out,the sweating methods were applied flexibly to get to the root of the matter,or to relieve exterior syndrome to remove pathogenic factors,or induce pathogenic factors to reach outside,or harmonize Ying(营)and Wei(卫),or nourish Yang to resolve pus,or perform blood-letting therapy,so as to achieve the purpose of eliminating pathogenic factors.In this article,the clinical experience of treating sore and ulcer diseases by sweating method in Yangke Xinde Ji is summarized to provide new thinking for modern clinical treatment of sore and ulcer diseases.
