Experience of Director HA Tuanjie in treating hypothyroidism in Hashimoto's thyroiditis
Hashimoto's thyroiditis(HT)is a common endocrine disorder, one of the diseases triggered by autoimmune dysfunction, with cytoplasmic or submucous thyroiditis being the most typical. This condition was first named and described in detail by the Japanese intemal medicine specialist Uchiyuki Hashimoto in 1912.During the development of Hashimoto's thyroiditis, the body's immune system becomes abnormal and mistakenly attacks the thyroid tissue, leading to gradual hypothyroidism. When the disease progresses to a certain stage, patients may experience symptoms of hypothyroidism such as fatigue, weight gain, depression, and muscle and joint pain.Based on the autoimmune nature of the disease,at present, the treatment of hypothyroidism in Western medicine for Hashimoto's thyroiditis still lacks a method that directly targets the root causes of the disease;instead,it is mainly based on symptomatic treatments, including supplementation of thyroid hormones as well as modulation of the immune system,to alleviate the symptoms and control the development of the disease, and the treatments are mainly thyroid hormone replacement therapy,(e.g.,lifelong oral administration of eugenol),or appropriate micronutrient supplementation, such as oral selenium yeast tablets. However, this treatment requires a high degree of patient compliance and is characterized as a"patient-physician contract".It is conceivable that such treatment and its possible side effects have a certain impact on the quality of life of patients, and even cause a certain degree of psychological pressure on patients. However, the pathogenesis of Hashimoto's thyroiditis is complex, and the spleen and stomach function is weakened, the kidney Qi is deficient, and the viscera function is dysfunctional in the evolution of the process.Although Westem medical treatment has a certain effect,it is not significantly effective in subclinical and mild to moderate cases. Therefore, more therapeutic dissynergies are needed to improve the therapeutic effect and the quality of life of patients. Therefore, this paper proposes that the main treatment method should be to support the normal function of the body and eliminate pathogenic factors. This approach can significantly relieve the patient's clinical symptoms and bring better treatment outcomes.Compared with Western medicine, this method produces fewer side effects and is more acceptable and complied with by patients.Overall, the method of supporting the normal function of the body and eliminating pathogenic factors may open up new possibilities for the treatment of HT.
