Research progress of Chinese herbal medicine external differentiation and treatment of knee osteoarthritis
Knee osteoarthritis(KO A)is a degenerative disease with joint pain and functional limitation as the main symptoms of cartilage injury caused by various factors,which gradually deteriorates and progresses,resulting in joint cartilage fibrosis,chapping and exfoliation.With the aging process of our country,the number of KOA patients is gradually increasing,and the trend is rising year by year.How to relieve pain and restore joint function is the primary problem in the clinical treatment of KOA.The first line of treatment for KOA recommended by the International Society for Osteoarthritis Research is still drug therapy.The drug treatment of KOA is mainly oral non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and glucosamine.Although these drugs can alleviate some symptoms,long-term application may cause many adverse reactions.Traditional Chinese medicine has accumulated rich experience in the treatment of this disease,and there are various kinds of treatment methods.TCM treatment method combines the holistic concept with the treatment of syndrome differentiation,and has significant advantages in the treatment of this disease,especially the extemal treatment of Chinese herbal medicine has exact advantages,of which not only the treatment effect is reliable,the cost is low,the side effects are few,and the patients can use it for a long time.However,we must also be soberly aware that there are still some problems in the clinical application of Chinese herbal medicine for extemal treatment of KOA.For example,some doctors ignore the importance of syndrome differentiation in the process of disease differentiation,resulting in improper drug use;There are also some doctors who rely too much on the empirical prescription and lack the idea of innovation and personalized treatment,which affects the efficacy.Therefore,we need to sum up the experience and lessons in clinical practice,strengthen the study and practice of TCM theory,and improve the level of syndrome differentiation and treatment.The author consults relevant literature,and reviews the research progress of TCM extemal treatment of KOA based on syndrome differentiation,in order to provide reference for clinical standard application of TCM external treatment of KOA.
