Multi-dimensional thinking on TCM etiology and pathogenesis of constipation
With the rapid pace of modem life, the acceleration of aging of social population, and the change of people's diet struc-ture and the influence of mental, psychological and social factors, the incidence of chronic constipation in China has been increasing year by year in recent years.Long-term constipation can not only induce anorectal diseases, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular adverse events, increase the risk of cancer, but also affect patients'mental health and reduce the quality of life.Chronic constipation is a common psycho-somatic disease with high incidence, which is characterized by difficult treatment and easy recurrence.Although chronic constipation is a symptom,Chinese medicine believes that it is not an independent disease, but a clinical manifestation of the dysfunction of the viscera of the human body, showing that the etiology and pathogenesis of constipation are complex.Etiology is the cause of diseases that guides the human body,it is also known as"pathogenic factors".Traditional Chinese medicine pays attention to the treatment of diseases based on syndrome differentiation and pathogenesis.Pathogenesis is the understanding of the intrinsic, essence and regularity of the disease obtained by the analysis of the disease phenomenon with the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, which is the basis for the prevention and treat-ment of the disease,so it has been attached great importance by the doctors of all dynasties. There are many causes of chronic constipation, and the pathogenesis is still lack of unified understanding. At present, the etiology and pathogenesis of chronic constipation are complex and lack of systematic summary, which is difficult to effectively guide the clinical practice of traditional Chinese medicine. This paper attempts to elaborate the etiology and pathogenesis of chronic constipation from the perspective of Qi(气),blood,Yin(阴)and Yang(阳),five viscera, three Jiao(三焦),large intestine and meridians,in order to provide references for the clinical treatment of chronic con-stipation.The pathogenesis theory of constipation is not perfect at present, and needs to be further summarized in order to provide a better theoretical basis for the clinical treatment of constipation in traditional Chinese medicine.
