A visual analysis of treating bronchial asthma by acupuncture based on CiteSpace and VOSviewer
In China,bronchial asthma is a common disease,with the characteristics of prolonged and difficult to cure,and recurrence.Western medicine treatment is usually based on hormones and theophylline drugs,but long-term use of these drugs may bring many adverse reactions.The characteristic therapy of traditional Chinese medicine has the characteristics of simple,convenient,cheap,and effective,which shows its advantage in the treatment of asthma.Acupuncture is one of the important means of external treatment of traditional Chinese medicine.In this study,visualization software Citespace and VOSviewer were used in combination with literature data on acupuncture treatment of asthma from CNKI to construct a comprehensive and diversified visual knowledge map,aiming to sort out and explore the research and development tendencies in this field,in order to provide useful reference.Objective:CiteSpace and VOSviewer software were applied to visualize the research on acupuncture treatment of asthma in recent 10 years,so as to provide guidance and feasible suggestions for researchers.Methods:Literature related to acupuncture in the treatment of bronchial asthma from 2013 to 2023 was retrieved from CNKI and was imported into CiteSpace and VOSviewer for a visual analysis of the number of publications,authors,institutions and high-frequency keywords.Results:A total of 515 valid studies were included,involving 1 138 authors.There were 10 cluster labels of keywords,including electroacupuncture,acupuncture,acupoint injection,acupuncture therapy,etc.Conclusion:In the current research field of acupuncture treatment of bronchial asthma,the main attention is paid to the observation and study of clinical efficacy,while the research on the treatment mechanism is less.In addition,acupoint embedding and acupoint injection therapy have become the main methods for the treatment of bronchial asthma,and the comprehensive application of acupuncture plus medicine,acupoint application,electroacupuncture and other treatment methods may become the future development trend.
