A Meta-analysis of treating chronic obstructive pulmonary disease by self-blood acupoint injection
Objective:To evaluate the clinical effectiveness of self-blood acupoint injection in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Methods:Databases such as China Knowledge and Pubmed were searched to retrieve studies on the clinical randomized controlled trials of treating COPD by self-blood acupoint injections from the establishment of the databases to October 8,2023.Two researchers severally screened the literature, extracted the data, and assessed the risk of bias for the selected ones, and then performed a Meta-analysis by RevMan 5.4.Results:A total of 22 studies with 1 881 patients were included in the study, and the results of the Meta-analysis showed that compared with the control group,self-blood acupoint injection increased the total clinical efficiency[OR=3.73,95%CI(2.79,4.98),P<0.000 01]and prolonged 6 WMT distances[MD=34.21,95%CI(24.92,43.51),P<0.000 01],ameliorated CAT score[MD=-3.86,95%CI(-5.20,-1.26),P<0.000 01],and improved lung function indexes such as FVC[MD=0.45,95%CI(0.42,0.49),P<0.000 01],a total of 19 outcome indexes, and the differences were statistically significant between groups.Conclusions:Self-blood acupoint injection in the treatment of COPD can significantly improve 6 WMT distances, decrease TCM syndrome scores,SGRQ score and CAT score, improve the lung function, reduce the inflammatory index levels, and improve the immune function and the quality of life of the patients.
