Treating airway mucus hypersecretion in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease based on treating phlegm from liver in TCM
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)is a common chronic respiratory disease. This disease has a long course of disease,is difficult to cure, and seriously threatens human health.Airway mucus hypersecretion is an important pathological feature of COPD and an important factor leading to acute exacerbation and progression of COPD.COPD belongs to the category of lung distension in traditional Chinese medicine. As an important pathogenic factor of lung distension, phlegm is not only related to the dysfunction of lung, spleen and kidney, but also closely related to the pathological state of liver,so it is very important to explore the role of liver and phlegm in the occurrence and development of COPD.Airway mucus hypersecretion in COPD is consistent with the'accumulated phlegm in the lungs'of lung distension. In terms of the treatment of lung distention,TCM method is mainly based on the theory of treating phlegm from the liver, and the function of the liver in the promotion and elevation of Qi(气)plays an active role in the treatment of phlegm. Therefore, based on the theory of treating phlegm from the liver, this paper discusses the syndrome differentiation and treatment of airway mucus hypersecretion in COPD,providing ideas and clinical diagnosis and treatment methods for the treatment of airway mucus hypersecretion in COPD in TCM,so as to improve the clinical efficacy of TCM in the treatment of lung distention.
