Skin pruritus is one of the most common complications of AIDS patients.It is easy to recur and lingering and difficult to heal.When it occurs,itching is intolerable and leads to sleepless at night.There is no systematic treatment plan for AIDS skin pruritus due to many influencing factors and the complexity of etiology,which is one of the difficult problems in clinical work.For more than 30 years,Professor WANG Junwen has been committed to the use of traditional Chinese medicine to prevent and treat AIDS,and has unique insights into the etiology,pathogenesis,and diagnosis and treatment of AIDS skin pruritus.This article introduces Professor WANG Junwen's clinical experience in treating AIDS skin pruritus from the perspective of liver meridian.Professor WANG Junwen believes that AIDS patients are prone to emotional depression on the one hand,and fatigue on the other hand,and lose their passion and confidence to survive due to the dual pressure of psychology and life.Professor WANG Junwen believes that the occurrence of AIDS skin pruritus is closely related to the liver,the liver is the thief of the five viscera,and plays a crucial role in the development and severity of the disease.It is believed that the four types of syndrome such as liver-qi stagnation syndrome,liver-meridian dampness-heat syndrome,liver-kidney deficiency syndrome and liver-blood deficiency syndrome can be treated by the method of soothing the liver and regulating Qi(气)and resolving depression,the method of clearing dampness-heat and benefiting the liver,the method of nourishing the liver and kidney,and the method of nourishing the liver and blood,respectively.Syndrome differentiation and treatment and the selection of prescription medicine can achieve immediate effects and relieve iching effectively.From the perspective of follow-up practice,the author summarizes the experience of Professor WANG Junwen in the treatment of AIDS skin pruritus,hoping to provide new ideas for clinical workers in the treatment of AIDS skin pruritus,and lay a foundation for further improving clinical efficacy,so as to effectively alleviate the symptoms of patients with skin pruritus,relieve patients'pain,and improve the quality of life of patients.
