Discussion on lumbar knee pain based on the theory of"bone, tendon and muscle"in Huangdi Neijing
Knee pain is a common clinical symptom, usually caused by athletic injury, excessive exercise, degenerative changes and other factors. In addition to the above factors, some factors outside the knee joint can also cause knee pain.Treating the root cause is an important therapeutic principle in traditional Chinese medicine.Exploring the causes of knee joint pain is beneficial for understanding and clinical diagnosis and treatment of this disease. With the further development of medicine, clinicians have found that lumbar lesions can also cause knee pain, called lumbar knee pain.Lumbar knee pain mainly refers to knee joint pain, swelling, and functional impairment caused by some lesions in the lower back.Treatment of primary diseases in the lower back can alleviate knee joint pain. This disease belongs to the categories of"bone Bi-disease"(骨 痹),"knee Bi-disease"(膝 痹)and"Bizheng"(痹 证)in traditional Chinese medicine.Using the viewpoints of'treating both the symptoms and the root cause, internal and external treatment together'in traditional Chinese medicine, the implementation of multi-target,multi-organ treatment has a remarkable therapeutic effect.Huangdi Neijing(《黄帝内经》)recognizes that this disease is closely related to bone, tendon and muscle. This paper first elaborates and summarizes the relationship between bone, tendon and muscle and the locomotor system.Secondly, based on the theory of bone, tendon and muscle, this paper discusses the etiology and pathogenesis of lumbar knee pain from the aspects of waist and knee, and discusses the athogenesis of lumbar knee pain from the aspects of manifestation and root cause. Finally, one clinical case is shared in order to provide reference for clinical practice.
