Objective:To summarize Professor CAI Shengchao's clinical syndrome differentiation experience and medication rules in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis by data mining technique,so as to provide further guidance on clinical medication. Methods:Medical cases of Professor CAI Shengchao about the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis from 1 January to 31 December 2022 were collected to perform frequency statistics, association rule analysis and systematic clustering analysis of medication by Excel,SPSS Statistics 27 and SPSS Modeler 18.Results:A total of 129 prescriptions involving 101 Chinese medicines were included, among which 32 core medicines(with a frequency of not less than 15 times)used by Professor CAI Shengchao for treating rheumatoid arthritis included Guizhi(Ramulus Cinnamomi),Gancao(Radix Glycyrrhizae),Sangzhi(Ramulus Mori),Baishao(Radix Paeoniae Alba),Weilingxian(Radix et Rhizoma Clematidis),Mugua(Fructus Chaenomelis)and so on.The medicinal properties of core medicines were mainly warm, moderate and cold, the medicinal tastes were mainly pungency, sweet and bitter, which mainly were absorbed by liver meridian, spleen meridian and lung meridian.According to the efficacy classification, tonifying medicine and dispelling wind-dampness medicine were mainly used clinically.Ten associated medicine combinations were mined by association rule analysis, and seven core medicine combinations were mined by clustering analysis. Conclusion:Professor CAI Shengchao's clinical treatment of rheumatoid arthritis emphasizes the academic idea of judging the cause to cure the disease, and the treatment is based on the principles of tonifying liver and kidney, regulating spleen and stomach, and benefiting the vital energy and nourishing the blood, accompanied by the methods of dispelling wind to dredge collaterals, dispelling cold and removing dampness, and dispelling blood stasis and resolving the phlegm. It has some reference significance to the clinical treatment of rheumatoid arthritis in traditional Chinese medicine.
